The Liverpool Community Learning Champions project has been hugely successful in recruiting and training over 150 people to act as role models to encourage their friends, families and neighbours into learning and volunteering and show it is never too late to learn new skills.
The Learning Champions were trained in the use of Participatory Appraisal techniques to assess the needs of all parts of their communities and feed back to funders including the Adult Learning Service.
The project was delivered across the city by a highly experienced consortium including:
- Granby Toxteth Development Trust (GTDT)
- Everton Development Trust (EDT)
- Speke Training and Education Centre (STEC)
- Liverpool Personal Services Society
Now the project has been recognised and scooped the Community Learning Champions Award. Read more about this story here
