On Saturday 10 February, myself and other residents from Ritson and Asbridge Street braved the weather and spent morning cleaning our streets.
There were seven volunteers who came to help with the litter pick and together we filled 8 bags of rubbish!
There was lots of interest from other residents who thought what we where doing was great and some of them where keen to get involved the next time round.
We even started to make plans for what to do next. We thought it would be a really good idea to transform one part of the alleyway into a green space, using recycled material to create furniture and planters.
It's still early days but with the enthusiasm that was shown last Saturday I think we could be on our way to making the area a healthier and happier place to live.
So thank you to each and everyone of the volunteers who came out to help on Saturday, they did a brilliant job!
