The third Thursday of the month came around very quickly and it was time for me to pay a visit to the Community Lunch at St Bede's which is part of the Agnes Woodford Project.
Joe, the resident bingo caller, was away this month and although is unique style was missed a last minute volunteer more than made up for Joe's absence. Lin, a regular at the Lunch Club had the crowd in stitches with her quick witted calling style she had us captivated and more than lifted our spirits.
As well as the fab bingo prizes donated from the public, I was able to take with me some more clothes. During my last visit it was clear that coats where very popular and in great need, so this time I came prepared with plenty more, as well some smart jackets more suitable for the spring time. Again they proved to be very popular and it was a privilege to see so many smiles!
There was also lots of great feed back from those who took home snugly bed clothes from the last Lunch Club. One lady told me how the house coat she received last month had helped to relieve her from back pain.
Already I'm counting down the days until the next Lunch Club and am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces.
