Late sowing at the Adult Learning Service

After a long and productive summer at the Granby Adult Learning Service garden, we've unveiled a new bed, in which we sowed some seeds which will grow through the winter and into spring.

Karl, who has been job-shadowing me to see what sort of growing activities we get up to at GTDT, planted up some cabbage that we'd already started off.

We also put in some spinach, beetroot and pak choi - something none of us had ever tried before!

We'll be putting the garden to sleep for the winter soon, enriching the soil with some green manures, which reinvigorate the beds with nutrients that have been taken up by plants we've grown throughout the year, whilst these winter veggies do their thing. Here's to next Spring!
