Adult Learning Service Garden begins again for 2019

The last frosts (we hope!) have come and gone and so it's time to start up the ALS garden once again. After a fantastic 2018 of big harvests and big smiles, the gang are back and ready to get their hands dirty.

We had a very sunny bank holiday weekend, so our first job was to give our plants a good soak to help them recover from the dry conditions. The weeds didn't seem too phased, however, so we had to deal with them, too!

Next on the jobs list was seed sowing, and we've put lettuce, spinach and courgette seeds in the beds so far! Our regular volunteer Shahab repotted our rhododendron, too, which is bursting into flower.

It was great to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones. If you would like to join us, we are there on Tuesday mornings 9 - 12. Pop into the Granby Adult Learning Service for more information.
