Out first Community Living Room at Penny Lane Development Trust took place on an afternoon when the rain never stopped. However there was plenty of excitement from the people who braved pre-Storm Hannah.
Everyone was so enthusiastic and wanted to get involved and had plenty of ideas of activities that we could all get involved with at future sessions. Their ideas ranged from book clubs, salsa dancing and walking clubs.
We also piloted a clothes swap alongside our well established and popular clothes rail activity which was very well received and we will appear at future events. Our marketing had also raised the interest of a local organisation called Health Watch who came along to find out what its was all about and to find out more about the wider activities available to the community.
We also had a person who had never been to PLDT but had received a leaflet through their door. Not only did this lady get involved in all the activities, taking part in the clothes swap but also signed up for a gardening course which GTDT are leading on. "It has made my week discovering this place and all you lovely people " Joining up to the course will get me out the house and am sure to meet some lovely people on the way"
