Oxfam are raising awareness of fashion's environmental impact and the ever increasing pressure that throwaway fashion is putting on our planet. Every week 11 million items of clothing end up in landfill. As part of the awareness raising, Oxfam are challenging people to take the 'Second Hand September' challenge and to pledge not to buy new clothes in September.
GTDT have been recycling pre-loved clothes for the last couple of years and encouraging lcoal people to donate any unwanted clothing and school uniforms, which we then give away free to other local people and families. As part of Second Hand September could you donate? Or would you like to have a look at some pre-loved clothes? Our next Community Clothes Rail is tomorrow (1.00pm - 2.30pm) in our centre at 129d Lodge Lane - this has a 'school uniform' focus, so if you are missing any bits come and have a look!
