Cultural Come Dine With Us Evening

Young people from GTDT were invited to a cultural ‘come dine with us evening’ at the Speke Adventure Playground. Several youth provisions from across Liverpool got the chance to meet up and share food from different cultures as well as art activities.

The aim of the evening was to get young people from different backgrounds, areas, cultures together to celebrate their differences as well as finding out their similarities and things they have in common.

When arriving at the Centre our young people were invited to eat different dishes that other young people had cooked. There was traditional 'scouse' on the menu, curry and rice and plenty to eat for desert. Our young people cooked chocolate or cheese pastries which was well received by all.

It was a fantastic evening were all the young people had the opportunity to make new friends, engage in positive activities and talk about meeting up again in the near future. We would like to say a big thank you to Speke Adventure Playground and Netherton Youth Centre for inviting us and making us feel very welcome.

Ben and Elise played their first game of bingo with the other children, Elise won a prize and laughed when he shouted ‘bingo’.
