We had a very interesting and thought provoking day as part of the REAP project with our colleagues from Safer Stronger Communities, One Liverpool and John Moore University of what
Motivational Interviewing is and the techniques involved which can help us all in our every day life.
The session was led by Dr K Jolliffe a psychologist and member of the Motivational Interviewing Network.
The aim of the day was to challenge the group to think and discuss through role plays what we say how we say it and how that can have an impact in motivating people to make a change in their life . Impacts could be far reaching and varied which could include helping giving up smoking ,looking for work and moving house.
We left the session armed with a wide variety and ideas that we need to practice and adapt in our daily lives.
