Rain Didn't Stop Play

It was incredible to catch up with old friends and make some new ones at our first event over the summer holidays down at Riverview Development Trust.

Some of the older people who had met up weekly before the pandemic met each other for the first time after fifteen months. It was so rewarding to see them catch up with each other and the weather didn't dampen their spirits either. Helen, a fitness instructor, even got them dancing in the rain.

During the event we gave away thirty hanging baskets and forty bags of fruit. We hopefully will be setting up our regular get togethers at Riverview in the near future. I personally can't wait.

We were also trying to encourage everyone to get involved, in trying to do take some new physical activities over the summer. We encouraged this by giving away bean bags, skipping ropes, hula hoops and resistance bands. The hula hoops were a big success with all the family. The atmosphere was tremendous with everyone supporting each other and having a go. Well done everyone who got involved (in the pouring rain).

We finished off the day because we had burnt off so many calories with an ice cream!
